Councilmember Charles Allen is accepting nominations through the end of the day on Friday, November 15, for the 13th Annual Ward 6 Brickie Awards -- Ward 6's annual party. Carrying on the tradition of former Councilmember Tommy Wells' Livable Walkable Awards, the Brickies will honor local people and organizations whose leadership, commitment, and vision make Ward 6 a great place to live and work.
Award categories include:
- Neighbor Award
- Community Organization Award
- Business Award
- Public Service Award
- Civic Pride Award
Please use the form below to submit your nomination. In addition to your contact information, all nominations need to include the nominee's name, contact information (email and/or phone number), and award category.
Last year’s winners were Frances Slaughter (Neighbor Award), Clean Decisions (Business Award), Mt. Vernon Triangle CID (Community Organization Award), Larry Handerhan (Public Service Award), and the residents of Arthur Capper Senior Apartments who survived a tragic fire, along with Meredith Fascett and Georgine Wallace, AARP DC, Capitol Riverfront BID, and the Marine Barracks Washington who all played a role in serving the seniors and/or responded to the fire (Civic Pride Award).
The 13th Annual Brickie Awards will take place Thursday, December 5 at the brand new DC Water headquarters in Capitol Riverfront.
