Councilmember Charles Allen Congratulates Shop Made in D.C. for Opening Its Brick and Mortar Store

As the Made In DC Brand takes a major step forward by opening a brick and mortar store, Councilmember Charles Allen, author of the Made In DC Program Establishment Act of 2015, offered his congratulations to the hardworking team of Shop Made In D.C.

“When we first talked about Made In DC and what it could be for our local business community, one of the goals was to see local DC businesses featured in prominent retail space,” said Councilmember Allen. “Thanks to the nonstop work by many Made In DC entrepreneurs, this store DC makers are ready to compete. With the holiday season just a month away, I can’t wait to shop some of the best of what DC has to offer – and made right here in DC.”

The Made In DC program promotes locally created, manufactured, and assembled products through brand certification via the Department of SLBD. More than 200 businesses are part of the Made In DC program.
