WASHINGTON, DC – This morning Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen issued the following statement regarding the announcement that the Washington Nationals have been awarded the 2018 All-Star Game:
“It’s great news. Hosting the MLB All-Star game will be an honor for the neighborhood and the entire city. The wonderful riverfront community around the Ballpark is growing every day and it’s going to be even better by the time we host the All-Star game in 2018.”
Ward 6 is home to Nationals Park and the neighborhoods that surround it, including the Capital Riverfront, Southwest, and Navy Yard neighborhoods.
