As part of its Capital Improvement Program, DC Water is replacing existing cast iron water mains in various locations throughout the city. Construction for this project will occur on Constitution Avenue NE and surrounding area streets including

• Massachusetts Avenue NE,
• Maryland Avenue NE,
• A Street NE,
• 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Streets NE,
• and alleys between 2nd, 3rd and 4th Streets.

Scope of Work items will include the following: • Installation of approximately 10,650 linear feet of 3-inch up to 12-inch water mains • Installation of approximately 2,270 linear feet of 20-inch up to 36-inch water mains • Replacement of service lines – including free private side replacement of lead and galvanized iron pipe • Replacement of fire hydrants and valves • Restoration of all surfaces disturbed by the project construction upon completion of the work
