HOW TO GET AROUND 

It's going to be a busy and crowded weekend in Ward 6 with all of these awesome activities happening! With that in mind, the best way to get to and from events is not going to be by car. Instead, here are some great alternative methods of transit:

Metro

  • Metro access via Navy Yard Station, and Waterfront (both are green line stations)
  • On the nights of the Home Run Derby and the All Star Game the last trains will depart from Navy Yard at EITHER 12:22 am in the direction of Greenbelt and 12:48 am in the direction of Branch Avenue OR 30 minutes after the end of the game, whichever is later. Only Navy Yard Station will be available for entry to the Metrorail system, and all other stations will be exit only.

Bus

  • The Circulator will be running extra buses to its Eastern Market-L'Enfant Plaza route for the All-Star Weekend

Bike

  • There will be two bicycle valets. One located at Nationals Stadium near First Street and N Place SE and the other at Audi Field, near the intersection of T and Second Streets.
  • Capital BikeShare docks:
    • 1st & K st. SE
    • 1st & N st. SE
    • 3rd & Tingey st. SE
    • 4th & M st. SW
    • 1st & Potomac ave. SW (this station will be a corral, meaning BikeShare staff will be on hand to get bikes out of the way when stations are full)

Boat

 

ROAD CLOSURES

  •  L st. NW : 700 block
  • 1st st. SE:  open only to local and event traffic between M st and Potomac Ave. (7/13-7/17)
  • Potomac Ave.: Unit block open only to local and event traffic (7/13-7/17)
  • Half St. SE: closed between M st. and N st. (7/13-7/17)
  • N st. SE: closed between half st, and 100 block

Restricted Parking

  • I (Eye) st. SE: Unit block-100 block

Rideshare

  • Taxi and rideshare pickup zones will be in effect from 4:00 pm-12:00 am from 7/15-7/17
    • Taxis: pick up on L st. SE between South Capitol and 3rd st. SE
