For its 16th year, the Ward 6 Brickies finally returned back in person for the first time in two years! On December 7, 2022 we gathered together at the Hill Center for an evening of community celebration and great food and drinks donated by some of our wonderful Ward 6 local businesses.
Council Passes Metro For DC Bill on First Vote to Make Buses Free in DC and Create $100 Monthly Balance for All Residents
Today, the DC Council unanimously passed Councilmember Charles Allen’s Metro For DC bill, paving the way for free buses operating in the District as early as July 2023 and a $100 monthly balance on a registered SmarTrip card for DC residents beginning in 2024.

District residents face two crises of air quality right now: an emerging awareness that gas-burning appliances are creating significant air quality issues inside homes, and the broader air quality and temperature concerns in the environment heating up from mass consumption of fossil fuels. Today, Councilmember Charles Allen (Ward 6) introduced legislation aimed at taking on both issues.
