WASHINGTON, DC – This afternoon Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen issued the following statement regarding the findings of the APTA peer review panel of the H Street / Benning Road Streetcar system:

This afternoon Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen attended the signing of the city’s Land Disposition Agreement for the transfer of two parcels to Donatelli Development and Blue Skye to begin the redevelopment of Reservation 13.

Anne Phelps, Legislative Director for DC Councilmember Charles Allen (Ward 6), will be awarded a Distiniguished Service Award by the Gay and Lesbian Activists Alliance of Washington, DC. GLAA presents awards to local individuals and organizations that have served the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community in the national capital area.

WASHINGTON, DC – At this morning’s DC Council Committee of the Whole meeting, Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen introduced his “Books From Birth” bill to create a new early literacy initiative in partnership with DC Public Libraries.  The bill was co-introduced unanimously by Allen’s ten Council colleagues.

Speaking this morning at the Southwest Neighborhood Library, Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen announced he will introduce a bill on Tuesday to create a new early literacy initiative in partnership with DC Public Libraries.

Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen today introduced the Small Business Incubator Act of 2015 and the Collaborative Reproduction Amendment Act of 2015, and co-introduced the State Safety and Security Oversight Agency Establishment Act of 2015 at the opening legislative meeting of Council Period 21.
