On Thursday, May 7, Councilmember Charles Allen will host a Ward 6 Town Hall meeting on the proposed DC Budget.  The Councilmember will brief attendees on budget items of specific interest to Ward 6 neighborhoods, his areas of focus in the Council's budget debate, and next steps in the city's budget process.  Attendees will be invited to ask questions and share their priorities with Councilmember Allen.

WASHINGTON, DC – This afternoon Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen issued the following statement regarding the findings of the APTA peer review panel of the H Street / Benning Road Streetcar system:

This afternoon Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen attended the signing of the city’s Land Disposition Agreement for the transfer of two parcels to Donatelli Development and Blue Skye to begin the redevelopment of Reservation 13.

Anne Phelps, Legislative Director for DC Councilmember Charles Allen (Ward 6), will be awarded a Distiniguished Service Award by the Gay and Lesbian Activists Alliance of Washington, DC. GLAA presents awards to local individuals and organizations that have served the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community in the national capital area.

WASHINGTON, DC – At this morning’s DC Council Committee of the Whole meeting, Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen introduced his “Books From Birth” bill to create a new early literacy initiative in partnership with DC Public Libraries.  The bill was co-introduced unanimously by Allen’s ten Council colleagues.
